Partner Call Centers
The 2-1-1 Finger Lakes partnership builds upon the strengths of existing programs to provide enhanced information and referral services throughout the 12 county Finger Lakes Region. The twelve counties include: Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tompkins, Wayne & Yates Counties. There are three call center sites - a hub site and two partner sites - collaborating to bring 2-1-1 access to the Finger Lakes Region in New York. They are:
2-1-1/LIFE LINE, A Program of ABVI-Goodwill
ABVI-Goodwill’s 2-1-1/LIFE LINE Call Center: The 2-1-1 Finger Lakes Hub site is an Accredited Information and Referral Program through the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems and a Certified Crisis Center through the American Association of Suicidology. The hub site covers Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, Ontario, Cayuga and Seneca Counties, as well as after-hours, weekend and holiday coverage for all 12 counties in the region. Services provided include:
- Crisis management, human services connections and comprehensive information & referral services since 1973 (2-1-1 dialing access added in 2005).
- Searchable online I&R database and Live Chat available at www.211fingerlakes.org
- 98% caller satisfaction rating.
- Direct connection of callers between 2-1-1/LIFE LINE and critical services such as 911 and the Finger Lakes Regional Poison Center.
- Regional answering point for National initiatives such as the National Suicide Lifeline Network, linking crisis centers across the country, and the Darkness to Light information & referral network for child sexual abuse.
- Answering point for NY Connects in Monroe County.
- Provides community planners with data for needs assessments and service planning.
- Answering point for other regional and statewide programs and after-hours services for other human service agencies by contract.

- Has information on over 650 not-for-profit and government organizations that provide services to Tompkins County.
- Publishes the Tompkins County Human Services Resource Directory and Community Services Guide.
- Online Services Directory at www.211tompkins.org
- Works with the Coalition’s Health Planning Council to connect callers to the “Get Covered” health insurance information line and “Prescription Meds Access” line.
- Maintains a website to connect potential volunteers to services opportunities at http://volunteertompkins.org
